2020 Toyota Hilux Pickup Trucks Dakar Three Custom Review, Specs, Engine, & Changes – Toyota Gazoo Racing South Africa uncovered their new three-car lineup for the 2020 Dakar, with De Villiers/Von Zitzewitz, Al Attiyah/Baumel, and Ten Brinke/Périn being the teams for the updated HiLux-based racer.
The newest evolution of the HiLux racing truck features a mid-engine design and new suspension geometry for the Dakar race. A power arises from a by natural means aspirated V8 which, for the race, will be fitted with a 37mm air intake restrictor. “The FIA has been making an effort to try and balance the performance of the turbodiesel-powered cars and the in a natural way aspirated V8s, such as ours,” describes Toyota Gazoo Racing SA Team Primary, Glyn Hall.
